Introducing the SweAme blog

Does the non-profit organization Swedish America Heritage Online (SweAme) need a "blog space"?

I am not sure, but I wanted to try it to see if anyone would be interested.

This first blog is to provide you a LINK to information that is being gathered on Stockholm, Texas.  Yes, I said Stockholm, Texas.  You, as most of us, most likely have never heard of such a place.  Details on this now ghost town are being gathered as we speak and is now partially available on http://www.sweame.org/.  From the SweAme website Public Home Page select the Albums tab on the left and Search for the "Stockholm Colony" album.  Enjoy learning about a very interesting group of people who attempted to establish a significant Swedish presence in the lower Rio Grande valley area of Texas.

  1. Congrads on the new blog, David! It will be very interesting to see what additional details can be found out about the Stockholm Colony. It was also interesting to see you use the term 'ghost town,' which of course, is fitting. Reminded me of the time I visited the area of another ghost town in Texas... Indianola. It's sad that these towns have passed away, but they still have a story to be told.
